


The electronic national identity document, much more that an identifying card
The central Executive and the technological employer's associations sign an agreement to foment their use during next the three years
The National Document of electronic Identity (DNIe) has supposed an authentic revolution. The incorporation of a chip, with capacity to store information of safe way and to process it internamente, has allowed to give a turn of 180 degrees to the way in which the citizens can interact through Internet, when providing an identification and signs trustworthy electronic in the relations between individuals, with private companies or the public Administrations.
With the new document it is possible to realize more than 2,500 different operations through the Network, with total comfort and guarantee, even in the most complex cases. Between most outstanding are the purchases, the banking transactions, the request of the labor file or the accomplishment of the declaration of the rent. In order to harness these services, the Government has invested more than 314 million Euros during the last triennium.
However, neither their economic effort nor the own advantages of the project have been sufficient so that the Spanish society takes advantage of all their potential. With intention to change to this situation the Departments of the Interior, of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and of the Presidency and the technological employer's associations Aetic and Asimelec have sealed a collaboration agreement to foment the use of these digital cards.
The agreement arrives in a while in that, as they have indicated sources institutional, there is “sufficient critical mass�, in relation to the number of sent membership cards, to start up promotion activities. It will have a use of three years, during which the signers have themselves it jeopardize to impel three types of measures:
1. To harness the manufacture and commercialization of computers, portable and other electronicses that incorporate readers of DNIe, as well as to create a representative logo of the same.
2. To develop informative campaigns to popularize the uses of the document and the benefits that from them are derived, besides facilitating to the population the knowledge and means necessary to extend its use.
3. To favor the adaptation, on the part of the companies, of its services and technologies so that certificates become lenders of services.
