The TIC, angular stone of the new services of health
The program “Health in line� has located to Spain to the vanguard in the use of technologies in this field
The sector of the health is immersed in a process of internal change, of modernization and adaptation to the new needs of the users, demands that as much increase in number as in exigency level. Against this background, the technologies of the information and the communication constitute an essential ally.
That one is, at least, the spirit who guides the program in line “Health�, put in march in 2006 by the Government in order “to locate to Spain in the vanguard of the application of the TIC in the services of health� and to use as them for “supporting the work of the professionals to the benefit of the citizen�, as first results have indicated the impellers of this project during the presentation of his.
The generic conclusion that it can be obtained is as clear as forceful: thanks to the close collaboration between the local Executive and Administrations a high degree of computerization has been reached. The effort has been capital, allén of squares of agendas and I interest, but the numbers, than more comforting, speak in case single.
The first challenge was to extend the central node of the National System of Health to guarantee the interoperability of regional cards and, consequently, to give support to the safe interchange of data. Passed test; the inhabitants of a fortnight of autonomic districts and Ceuta and Melilla already count on an agreed identifier for the information exchange to size.
Between the main applications that have arisen from this agreed model he finds electronic clinical history. To blow of click and in a matter of seconds, the doctor can accede to the file of any patient, besides where he has been tried previously. To day of today, this advance is a reality in Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Valencian Community, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, Navarre and Basque Country.
In the same line, the extension of the prescription online increases. The prescriptions in paper have opened the way to the computer science readers. The doctor introduces the indications in the card of each user, he consults them to the phamacist in his computer and he gives corresponding medecines. A safe and fast method that, in addition, it contributes to the protection of the environment. Andaluces and the Balearics already benefit from him and soon canaries will make Catalan, frontier, Galician, Valencian and Basque.
Important it has been also the generalization of the appointment Telematics by Internet. The 65 percent of the Spanish centers of health already offers east service for the consultations of primary attention, which supposes cover for 21 million citizens. Also, one has obtained that the 97 percent of the hospitals has information systems to their management (beds, agendas, appointments…) and that the 60 percent counts on storage devices of image in digital format.
