Welcome to the movable cover in the rural nuclei
The Plan of Extension of the Movable Telephony, from the central Administration, has benefitted to more from a million citizens of these areas
“The telephone to which it calls is dull or outside cover�. Until recently, this popular and tedious phrase was a constant for many zones of Spain with which to try to communicate through the radio networks seemed impossible mission. Because the users did not disconnect their apparatuses, but because they did not have average the suitable ones to receive the signal.
In order to give the return to that situation, in 2005, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce started up the Plan of Extension of the Movable Telephony, a novel initiative based on the incentive of the investments of the operators and that has extended until December of the past year (2008). It persecuted not only to approach the network all the citizens, but to improve his quality and to increase the competition in this sector.
At the end of the same, 10,234 stations have settled bases and a total of 1.124.886 people has benefitted from these activities. Like result, at present, the cover of movable telephony reaches the 99 percent, a data that locates to Spain, in this conjuncture, at the top of Europe.
Between the favored zones more are the rural ones, in particular, the population centers of less than 1,000 inhabitants than lacked cover they had, it of little quality or they had a unique operator. The situation has changed for more than 5,300 municipalities (thousands of them, of Castile and Leon) and for more of a million citizens (184,000 in the community).
Other attractive areas have been located under the influence of facilities of generation of electrical energy with nuclear technology and the petrochemical complexes. In this case, beneficiaries have seen themselves 418 localities that include 100,744 people.
Finally, the plan contemplated to the extension and development of the wireless complex of all the freeways and railcars and of railway infrastructures. Three years later, its influence has extended to 887 sections of highways and railroad.
