Digital clinical history and the electronic prescription, for all Spain in 2010
Health is the main objective of the second phase of the program “in line�
To locate to the country in the vanguard of the application of the TIC in the services of health. This one was the challenge with which Health� in 2006 took the program in line “. With his first stage still in march, the Ministries of Industry, Tourism and Commerce and of Health and Social Policy have subscribed a collaboration agreement to develop a new stage, that will be effective until 2012.
Its intention is to give continuity to the activities that have been undertaken until now, although also there will be place for own strategies. In the horizon, the improvement of the quality, the efficiency and the security of the benefits of the system.
One of the most ambitious challenges will be the implantation of digital clinical history in all the national territory before 2010 finalize. At present, this one works as a pilot project in Andalusia, Cantabria, Castilla-La Mancha, Castile and Leon, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Extremadura, the Balearic Islands, La Rioja and the Region of Murcia.
The benefits will be double, as much for the medical personnel as for the citizens. The facility to accede to the information will avoid duplicities of diagnostic tests and an unequivocal identification of each person, besides reducing the delays in the attention processes.
Resemblances are the intentions around the electronic prescription that, to day of today, is only operative in Andalusia and the Balearic Islands. The objective is to extend its use to the rest of independent communities, in order to facilitate the medecine retirement in any pharmacy of Spain, besides where they have been prescribed.
The recent agreement will allow, also, to develop to action of diffusion and qualification to present the operation the different services that are promoted and of support for its correct use. Everything, thanks to an investment of 195.20 million Euros, that will be contributed by the Government (101.60 million) and the regions that decide to adhere to the program.
