The central Administration commits itself to disburse 8.25 million Euros to co-finance diverse local and regional activities
The Spanish televising panorama is immersed in a period of as revolutionary transition as unstoppable. The next year, 2010, the analogical emissions will take leave definitively of the spectators to take step to a new era, the one of the Terrestrial Digital Television (TDT), a phenomenon that, as a experiment and for more than six months, already is a convincing reality in Soria.
But, so that the incipient “analogical blackout� is effective, it is essential to have necessary means, since without the suitable technology, neither the emitters can spread to the signal nor the users to receive it. Against this background and going ahead to future complications, the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce have started up action with which diverse to guarantee, as far as possible, the success of the transition to digitalis.
One of most recent has been the heading of agreements frame of collaboration with 18 Communities and Independent Cities for the development of initiatives of technical character, logistic and promotional. The signers will arrange to such aim of a global budget of 8.25 million Euros, a co-financing of which Castile and Leon will pocket 1.6 million.
Although there will be joint projects, generally, will be each region the one that determines its own program of activities, in accordance with the four established fundamental areas in the agreement: extension of the digital cover until equaling it to the analogical one, increase of the degree of connection with the citizenship, local information about the dates of cease of emissions and elaboration and putting in state of a plan of contingency to give answer to the problems that can arise.
On the other hand, the central Administration has renewed the contents of the page Web that dedicates to the TDT (www.televisiondigital.es). In her, three accountants, one by each one of the three phases of the “blackout�, inform to the user of the exact time that lacks so that the change takes place, a data that already can look for through zip code.
